Thanksgiving in Uganda: Museveni Speaks about Anti-Homosexuality Act

Today, Ugandans celebrated ‘Thanksgiving’.  The controversial celebrations included thousands of Ugandans who marched to the Kololo Stadium waving banners in support of the Anti-Homosexuality Bill.  During the ceremony, Museveni spoke about his decision to sign the bill, accusing the West of attacking African culture by spreading homosexuality on the continent.  He also criticized the West for attempting to interfere with African sovereignty and lawmaking.

In related news, today MPs in the Ugandan Parliament (along with their colleagues from CAR and DRC) commended the US Government for its support in the continued efforts to eliminate the Lord’s Resistance Army.
