Toy Story 3: Why is this nominated?

In Brief

The phrase “All good things must come to an end” applies here.

The Review

If you watched Toy Story as a child, you know that this was the film that established Pixar as the new wave in animated feature films. After Toy Story 2, I knew the franchise was dead. Toy Story 3
only confirms. I am not sure what the Academy was thinking when they placed this film in the Best Motion Picture and Best Animated Feature categories. Honestly, I don’t think the movie is deserving of either one. The plot is weak and the new characters are flat. For all those who claim they needed some sort of closure on the series: did we really need a mediocre film to reveal that Andy would eventually outgrow his toys?
